I generally don't like photos of fish swimming away from me, but this image is an exception to my rule because as the rainbow parrotfish heads into the coral to feed its colorful scales are prominently displayed.
I tried snorkeling on a trip to Hawaii and immediately was hooked on coral reefs. When I returned home, I signed up for scuba certification classes and found out that for medical reasons I could never be certified. Undaunted, I continued snorkeling and became a proficient free diver. I introduced my husband, Terry Melius (also a Fine Art America member), to snorkeling in 2000 and we've been snorkeling together ever since.
