Artist's Description

This photo demonstrates several differences between photos taken while free diving as I do, and photos taken on a dive. First, is the difference in light. This photo uses natural light, whereas most dive photos are taken with a flash. Second, this photo is a landscape featuring a fish (in this case a foureye butterflyfish), whereas most dive photos are macro's with the fish in focus and the background blurred out. And, third this photo was taken while I was actively swimming towards the coral and fish, whereas a diver is usually stationary waiting at or near the bottom for the fish to approach a coral head or other object the diver has selected for their background.
